Tests & Homework
According to one of the math teachers, Mr. Kwan, he said that different students from different courses will have different frequency of tests and quizzes, yet every student will be tested on every week. Then, homework is assigned everyday, which means there will be homework everyday. There might be less homework or more homework, but homework is definitely assigned everyday.
Daily Study
As textbooks, his students use Theory Problems by Mickelson. Students should review what they learn daily or just not last minute before tests and quizzes. Students are expected to study and review what they had learned everyday so that they are prepared beforehand for the tests or quizzes. Studying daily can help them to not rush and have more confidence for the tests and quizzes. So, not to study in the last minute is very important. The most difficult or the most mistake his students make is on solving foundation computation problems. Most of his students have the most trouble and struggle in this unit.
Explaination
Everyday, there will be new concepts taught. That is also why studying and reviewing daily is very important as it can be easily forgot. The learning pace is fast, so there will be new concepts taught everyday. There will be group work depending on which unit it is. Students will have an opportunity to collab with other students on some unit. Students do not need calculators for this course. However, students will need a Microsoft team, an online tool, for this course.
Contents
In this course, students will be taught on polynomials, linear equations, rational number, exponent laws, similarity of shapes, introductions to statistics, income, and lastly, budget and interest. At the end of this course, students will be expected to know all of the above units. This course has a lot of challenging problems and questions, and because of that, this subject is not a favourite for most students.
