English Literature
In English literature, you read books, analyze theories, and many other things. The main point of English literature is to have the ability to understand the deep definition and meaning of text and the complexities.
There are four types of English literature which are poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and drama.
Poetry
For poetry, students are going to create poetry and verses. It is used to invoke feeling and emotion into text also used to stir the creator's imagination with the rhythmic metaphors. Poetry literature prioritizes the structure form, rhythm & sound, figurative language, emotional & negative impact, and distinction from prose. Poetry structures can vary, the format could either be very strict or be able to freeform it.
Fiction
For Fiction, students will explore human experience by using their imagination. The point of this is to let students learn to imagine and visualize.

Nonfiction
In Nonfiction, students will learn how to express and present some real information, they will study real & authentic information and write stories about it. Nonfiction prioritizes vivid imagery, character development, compelling narratives, and factually accurate stories. Nonfiction is used to immerse the readers and to enhance the reader's perspective as if they were experiencing the story themselves.

Drama
For drama, it is to improve the skills of expressing by acting. It prioritizes performance on stage through dialogue, script form, and stage directions. It is performance orientated, so in scripts, forms of emotions, actions, or setting are often highlighted in italics or parentheses. Drama literature is often categorized into various types such as comedy, typically prioritizing humour and engagement. Tragedy sequencing tragic events, a serious play, and typically having an unhappy ending.
People who are creative and like reading will usually enjoy this subject. In English literature, you also learn about the culture and the history.
You can improve your communication skills and your critical thinking skills. So, if you are trying to improve your communication skills, your critical thinking skills, and want to read more books, I believe studying the English literature is definitely a good option. You will also earn a better understanding from English literature.
