What is English First People?
This course is deeply into the First People’s oral and written literature. It is not the same as the English literature, it is English First People, which is one of the types of English. There are many things included in this course, which students will learn a lot. So, I would definitely recommend you to take this course.
Objective
The purpose of this course is to let students think creatively and critically through writing by themselves, as well as strengthening their writing skills. Students will explore oral and written literature by working both individually and collaboratively, creating powering structures. Also, students will gain the ability of speaking, expressing themselves in a variety of contexts. They will as well have a deeper understanding of the past of Canada, present days, and future, related to the First Peoples.

What do students learn?
Additionally, students are expected to know a wide variety of BC, Canadian, and global First Peoples text, including the different forms and genres, oral texts and traditional, elements of visual and graphic texts, narrative structures, reading techniques, presentation strategies, elements of style, and language change.
Advantages
There are a lot of advantages of this course. Students not only can learn to visualize, thinking creatively by extending their thoughts, they can also gain a better writing skills, instead of just only the basic writing skills. Students will also learn to express by using variety of contexts, not just only the general contexts. This course includes a lot, they will also study about the country and the changes including the past, the present, and the future. This course benefits students a lot as they go into a higher grade or go into university since they have a higher level of writing and speaking.
