Biology 8

What is biology?

I will be explaining what students will be learning in Biology 8, but let’s first talk about what biology really is. Biology, a part of science, focusing on the study of life and living organisms. It is a natural science studying the structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution of life. The main lessons are the cell as the basic unit of life, genes and heredity as the basis of inheritance, evolution as the driver of biological diversity, energy transformation for sustaining life processes, and the maintenance of internal stability (homeostasis).

What will be taught in biology 8?

In biology 8, students will be studying the basics of cell theory. They will understand that all living things are made up of cells, so cells are the smallest unit of life. They will also learn about the microscopes and practice using them to compare different cells. The main purpose of biology 8 is to understand what cells and what do they do.

They will learn about the difference between animals’ cells and plants’ cells by studying different cells and knowing what the cells’ function is. They will memorize the cells’ names and their functions. Lastly, in their biology unit, they will learn how to identify and know the difference between unicellular and multicellular organisms as well as how the cells divided into sustain life.

Why is this subject important?

These are basically what students will be taught in the biology 8. In biology 8, the lessons are very basic, however, it is very helpful as students have moved on to a higher grade, they already have the basic knowledge of biology and it will be easier for them to study deeper in biology. So, although biology seems very basic, it is very important. To sum up, I would definitely recommend you to take the grade 8 biology in order to continue taking higher grades of biology.
